seaming technique?
I SUCK at seaming and I don't want to screw this up since this was a laborious project for me. So, what seaming technique have you used on your tilted duster
I used a "fake" kitchener stitch (same technique but the stitches aren't live) for the shoulder seams, mattress stitch for the side seams and for setting the sleeve I used both of those combined with a hybrid technique (half kitchener and half mattress) stitch were I was attaching stitches that were perpedicular to one another.
I find the key to pretty seams is figuring out the direction of the stitches and using the technique that works for that orientation of stitch. The Stitch n' Bitch book has, IMO, a pretty good discussion of seaming if you have it handy.

Thanks for the tips! I dug out my SnB book - and forgot all about it. yes, a bit of a book fetish...so thank's for the reminder. Great illustrations. A cup of coffee and an excedrin and I'm ready to start seaming!

I slip-stitch crocheted the arms into the armhole and mattress stitched the sides. Good luck! :)
